$150 Price Tag for Kinect Confirmed

It’s official, Kinect will stab you in the wallet for 150 bucks.

A listing on the Microsoft store has confirmed the long rumored $150 price point for Kinect. The rumors started back in May as the result of a leak from a trusted source, and just last week retailers began listing the device at that price.

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg said on Twitter that the retail “estimates” were “purely speculative,” although they would seem to have been fairly accurate after all.

According to the listing, Kinect comes with the sensor itself, a power cable, and a wi-fi extension cable, making no mention of any software. Greenberg did also say in his tweet that the pack-in details were yet to be decided, but if the listing is accurate, then you might be looking at an investment of a couple of hundred dollars to be able to get the most out of Kinect. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens in the coming months as the marketing machine for Kinect gets going.
