343 Industries Hires Pro Halo Player for Upcoming Xbox One Game

Halo 5

Pro Halo player “GH057ayame” from Team Carbon has been hired by 343 Industries for the next entry in the franchise.

Eric Hewitt, more commonly known as “GH075” in the pro Halo circuit, has been tapped by 343 Industries to presumably help the studio in developing the multiplayer component for its upcoming Halo game, which was announced at E3 last year. This was revealed by Hewitt on Twitter where he posted an image of his boarding pass to Seattle where 343 Industries is located and even changed his profile to reflect his new employment.

For those unfamiliar with the pro player, Hewitt helped create the settings for Halo 4’s official competitive playlists and also assisted with last year’s Halo 4 Global Championships in Austin, Texas, where he worked on rules and settings and did “shoutcasting” for matches. This is not the first time 343 Industries has plucked a pro Halo player to officially join the studio, as it also hired pro players “Dersky” and “Neighbour” last year.

While the next Halo game by 343 is still untitled, this recent hiring should be good news for franchise fans since people who are big-time Halo players can now give their input in the game’s production.

In recent Halo news, 343 Industries confirmed that the Xbox One Halo “journey will begin this year.”

What would you like to changed in the next Halo’s multiplayer? Do you think hiring pro players is the right direction for the studio to take?
