Kevin Bacon was one of the ensemble of stars in 1982’s Diner. This was filmmaker Barry Levinson’s first film, it was a very personal tale for him to tell. The entire film is untouchable, Kevin Bacon’s performance definitely helped make it the classic that it is today.
When looking for some of the best modern sci-fi look no further than Tremors. Let’s be honest, Tremors could have been a downright awful film, thankfully for us it was quite the opposite. Kevin Bacon starred as Valentine McKee, and made this movie amazing. There’s a reason that people know about this film but not about its sequels.
Kevin Bacon plays a small part in Oliver Stone’s film about the assassination of President Kennedy, called appropriately JFK. The part was small but this film further proved that there are no small roles, as Kevin Bacon’s small but very significant scene proves.
By no means was Kevin Bacon the star of Animal House, he was just an ass-kissing plebe that just wanted to be accepted in college. He was the character we truly hated.
Footloose is quite possibly Kevin Bacon’s best known role. He moves to a small town where rock music and dancing are banned, he’s too much of a free spirit to let that bring him down. This was one of his first starring roles in film, he showed Hollywood that he really could handle a leading role.
Stir of Echoes is by no means Kevin Bacon’s best film, it’s not horrible but when you compare it to the rest of his catalog it shows its flaws. Kevin Bacon plays the protagonist Tom Witzky, a man that gets hypnotized by his sister-in-law and comes away with some serious side effects. It’s funny, this isn’t Kevin Bacon’s best work but it’s still better than most of the horror films that Hollywood churns out these days.
If you’ve ever wanted to see a Kevin Bacon movie that doesn’t really have much Kevin Bacon, then Hollow Man is for you. Kevin Bacon is around for the first ten minutes of the film before he is made invisible, then for the rest of the film he isn’t really there. So if you want to see a modern re-telling of the classic The Invisible Man, or just want to see what a Kevin Bacon movie sans Kevin Bacon would look like, then this is the movie for you.
You may not recognize him here but that dog is Kevin Bacon. In 1995 Kevin Bacon voiced the title character in the animated film Balto. This is a tale of a wolf that saves Nome, Alaska, a truly heartwarming tale. Kevin Bacon has made better, but this film really tugs at the heart strings and really makes you think, so it can’t be that bad.
