8 Great Reasons To Go To The Theater In June

The summer is usually a great time to go to the theater. Today we give you eight great flicks that are coming out this month. So be prepared for air conditioning and spending more than you planned on concessions.

On June 6th Edge of Tomorrow hits theaters. From the trailers this looks like Starship Troopers mixed with Groundhog Day, which isn’t an insult. The one thing that makes this movie even better is that Emily Blunt once said that she would rather do poor theater than be a spear carrier in a Tom Cruise movie.

June 13th sees quite a few new flicks, and How to Train Your Dragon 2 is one of them. This sequel to the smash-hit blockbuster How to Train Your Dragon looks promising – the original was pretty amazing.

June 13 sees another sequel with 22 Jump Street. This sequel to 21 Jump Street features even more hijinks with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, and here you thought that they got into all of the shenanigans in the original. But they found more shenanigans somewhere I guess.

Another June 13th release is The Signal. This film follows three college buddies as they drive their way through the south-west. The trip doesn’t go as planned, who would have thunk it?

The Rover featuring Guy Pearce and Edward Cullen Robert Pattinson star in this thriller set in the Australian outback. On June 13 you’ll be able to see these two face off on the big screen, hopefully Edward Cullen Robert Pattinson doesn’t blind Guy Pearce with his sparkly shininess.

June 20th sees the release of Roman Polanski’s latest film, Venus in Fur. Anything by this aging auteur is worth watching, he’s really been on fire since Chinatown.

Snowpiercer comes out on June 27th, not the only movie to come out on that date but of the two we’ll have on here it’s probably the best. This film follows Captain America Chris Evans on board a train that houses the remaining members of the human race. Sounds like the heaviest romantic comedy ever made.

June 27 is also the release date of the most anticipated movie of the summer Transformers: Age of Extinction. The fourth installment of the Transformer franchise doesn’t get the Shia LaBeouf treatment, this time it’s up to Mark Wahlberg to muck it up. But that is Optimus Prime with a sword riding a robotic T-Rex, so.
