Today is the last day of E3 so let’s celebrate this year’s celebration of gaming with a gallery of some of the best trailers to have come out. So prepare to spend quite a bit of time and money on these games sometime in the future.
The people behind the Dead Island can stun with their trailers. The trailer for the first Dead Island was considered to be one of the best trailers of the year. They’ve followed that up with this, their trailer for Dead Island 2. It may not have anything to do with the game, besides the presence of zombies, but it certainly grabbed our attention.
Batman returns and this time he’s got even more toys. In this trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight you see Batman as he glides through Gotham looking to take out the Penguin. It’s nice to see the Batman employ most of his tricks to cause quite a bit of structural damage to his beloved city.
After the amazing success of the 2013 Tomb Raider they decided to keep that version of the heroine going. Although in this trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider it looks like they’ve made the video game version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Which honestly would be a fun game to play.
After the poor performance of Aliens: Colonial Marines it’s nice to see that they didn’t give up on the franchise. In this iteration, Alien: Isolation it seems that they’ve finally watched the original Alien. This trailer, and hopefully the game, captures the terror and fear that the original film elicited from its viewers.
This may not be a trailer for a AAA blockbuster game, but don’t hold that against it. Surgeon Simulator is apparently coming to PS4, and they came up with the best trailer that anyone could want for this product. For a game that lacks the big explosions and heart wrenching storylines this is still enough to hold my attention.
Truth be told, not very many people are knowledgeable about the Risen franchise although after this trailer many won’t soon forget it. It follows a lone warrior as he confronts what looks like something you shouldn’t be confronting alone. From this alone it is sure to get buckets upon buckets of money.
Sony’s upcoming zombie thriller is H1Z1, which is a nice little nod to the swine flu. In this zombie wasteland you must work with people to survive, unfortunately people are not usually good in these types of games. It’ll be fun to see how people interact in this experiment in potentially evil behavior.
Last, but not certainly least, there’s LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. From the trailer, and title, we can assume that Batman has taken a well deserved vacation away from the crime-ridden cesspool known as Gotham. It seems that this isn’t as much a vacation as a space battle, which sounds amazing.
