Fallout 4 Won’t Have Platform Exclusive (Even Timed) DLC

There will be no timed platform exclusivity deals for Fallout 4.

Fans of Fallout will remember that there was one of those nasty “timed exclusivity” deals concerning Fallout 3‘s DLC, where the Xbox and PC got the add-ons several months before the PS3. Well the good news is that today, Bethesda marketing chief Pete Hine has confirmed that no-one will be punished for choosing to play Fallout 4 on their platform of choice, as there are absolutely no exclusive DLC deals.

“We aren’t doing a DLC exclusive with anyone,” posted Hines on Twitter, responding to a fan query on whether or not the first Fallout 4 DLC would be coming to Xbox One first. That’s a pretty definite answer, so fans should certainly be able to rest easy.

Earlier, Bethesda confirmed that the game would indeed have the bog-standard $30 DLC Season Pass, although it stressed that purchasing the pass guarantees you will get every single piece of DLC that is ever made for the game. You see that, Evolve? That’s how you do a season pass.

The first Fallout 4 DLC will come out early 2016, following the game’s November 2015 launch, but aside from that we don’t know how frequently, or how much, DLC will be produced for the game.
