Starbound has finally left early access and has a full retail release.
Earlier this month we learned that indie constructor finally leaving early access for it’s bit 1.0 release this month. We are now happy to report that that day has finally come, and Starbound has been updated for players new and old. Developer Chucklefish has put together a launch trailer showcasing some of the new features for the game, which you can check out to the right.
If you already own the early access version of the game, it should automatically update to v 1.0 in your Steam library. New players can purchase the game on the Steam store. If you’d prefer a DRM free version, you can buy it on Humble Bundle or Good old Games. If you have been keeping a close eye on the game’s updates, you can see just the stuff that is new to 1.0 in this change log.
Additionally, Chucklefish has confirmed that the game has full mod support at launch! From the start menu, you’ll be able to view which mods you’ve currently got installed and browse the Workshop via the Steam overlay.
So what are you waiting for? Get crafting! If you’d like to know more be sure to check out our launch day stream of the game, and our review.
