If you were hoping to see Red Dead Redemption 2 this year, Rockstar has dashed those hopes with a delay.

Rockstar Games has announced that it has delayed the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 into Spring 2018. The news via a post on the Rockstar News Wire, which announces the delay.

In the post, Rockstar says that, “This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.”

“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready.”

There is one little bit of good news, and that’s that we’ll get more information about the game “this summer.” We’ve all been waiting for more information on Red Dead Redemption 2, but this wasn’t the information that we wanted.
