Twitch’s new Affiliate Program Will Let More Streamers Make Money

Eligible non-partnered streamers will soon have the opportunity to make money streaming games on Twitch.

Update: This post has been updated with a link to Twitch’s subscription tier announcement.

Original: Twitch announced today that it is introducing a new affiliate program, which will give more streamers – specifically, non-partnered Twitch streamers – the opportunity to make money on the platform.

“The program allows eligible streamers to start earning income on Twitch while building their audience, and provides a stepping stone to bridge the gap between emerging streamer and Twitch Partner,” the announcement reads. “At launch, Affiliates will be able to start using Cheering with Bits on their channel so their communities have an on-platform choice for showing support.”

In order to qualify, streamers must have a minimum of 500 total minutes broadcast in the last 30 days, at least 7 unique broadcast days out of the last 30, an average of 3 concurrent viewers or more over the last 30 days, and a minimum of 50 followers. Eligible streamers will be invited to participate in the program, and there is no application process.

According to Twitch, the program will launch “very soon,” and when it does the company will also introduce a Verified Chat Badge that will give partnered streamers “an extra mark of distinction on Twitch.”

There’s also a convenient graphic that details what is and isn’t included as part of the Affiliate Program.
