far cry 6 gameplay reveal, ubisoft forward, anthony gonzalez, giancarlo esposito, gameplay, livestream, release date

Our first look at Far Cry 6 gameplay will arrive during a special livestream reveal later this week. Ubisoft announced the event plans today with a foreboding teaser trailer, setting the presentation to begin Friday, May 28 at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET. The publisher hasn’t given specific details on what to expect or how long the livestream will be. However, fierce dictator Antón Castillo – played by Breaking BadBetter Call Saul actor Giancarlo Esposito – sounds ready to rule with an iron fist in the teaser video. You can hear him for yourself below.

Our last good look at Far Cry 6 came during its cinematic trailer announcement in July of last year when Ubisoft officially revealed that Esposito will appear as the game’s antagonist. Set in the fictional location of Yara, players will find themselves caught under the thumb of a violent dictatorship that punishes those who oppose its rule. The plan at the time was to see the game launch on Feb. 18, 2021. However, during an earning call later in 2020, the publisher announced the decision to delay its release date to sometime later in 2021. We will see a first look at gameplay this Friday, but let’s hope Ubisoft is ready to talk about a release date for Far Cry 6 as well.
