The live-action Cowboy Bebop show is coming this fall to Netflix, and it’s bringing back original series composer Yoko Kanno to create its soundtrack. The streamer announced the update as part of Geeked Week with a teaser video that features some of the live-action cast jamming out to the show’s iconic opening tune. Though far from an official trailer, it shouldn’t be too long before we get a better look at the adaptation considering its release is so close. If you’d like to see the tease (or if you’d like to feel a little nostalgic), you can watch the video below.

Netflix’s reimagining of the original ‘90s anime classic will feature John Cho (Star Trek Into Darkness, Searching) as Spike Spiegel, Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The Vampire Diaries) as Faye Valentine, and Mustafa Shakir (American Gods, Luke Cage) as Jet Black. When the Cowboy Bebop adaptation was first announced, fans had their reservations. With Yoko Kanno back to create new tracks for Cowboy Bebop though, we can hope that Netflix’s live-action take will at least have some of the original anime’s uncompromising style.
Stay tuned as we wait for a better look at Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop before it premieres this fall.
