Rabbit & Bear Studios’ Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the spiritual successor to Suikoden, has been pushed to 2023, according to its E3 announcement at the Xbox & Bethesda E3 2021 Showcase. However, we’re getting a spin-off game in 2022 called Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, though we were only shown a tiny bit of that game. It’ll launch on PC, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and Game Pass.
Eiyuden Chronicle is a Kickstarter-backed project that’s being helmed by several of the same people who worked on Suikoden, hence the “spiritual successor” title. It’s a 2.5D JRPG, and the trailer showed off several of the characters who’ll be able to join the party throughout the game. It will also come to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The spin-off, Rising, appeared in the video for a few seconds, so we don’t yet know exactly what it’ll be about or how it’ll play, but it seems to be a sidescrolling action game.
