Amazon Games’ MMORPG for PC, New World, has received yet another delay following its successful closed beta test. The developers announced on social media that New World will now arrive on September 28, 2021, rather than its previous August 31 release date. Originally, the game was supposed to launch in 2020 and saw another delay earlier this year.
More than one million players took part in the beta test, amassing more than 16 million total hours played. The feedback gathered from the period helped influence Amazon Games’ decision to delay, as the statement explains, “We want New World’s launch to be a smooth and fun experience for all players, and that means making some improvements based on what you encountered during the Closed Beta.”
“This was not an easy decision to make,” the statement from Amazon Games says. “We know this isn’t the first time we’ve changed our launch date in pursuit of quality, and that it can be disappointing to wait a bit longer. But we want to be sure we deliver you the highest quality game possible at launch. Thank you for your support and feedback. We’re listening. We’ll see you in Aeternum.”
Assuming this is the final delay and New World manages to stick to its new release date, you’ll be able to enjoy it on PC via Steam.
