The Church in the Darkness – Review in 3 Minutes

Recommended Videos

The Church in the Darkness is an isometric stealth action game from Paranoid Productions heavily inspired by the events surrounding the Peoples Temple and the infamous Jonestown massacre of the ‘70s. You play as Vic, who’s asked to infiltrate “Freedom Town,” a socialist commune in the jungles of South America, in order to find his nephew Alex.

The world-building done here is great and the stealth gameplay continues to be fun on repeated playthroughs. The Church in the Darkness almost serves as a history lesson, making one of the most shocking headlines of the ‘70s into a noteworthy interactive experience. The game is out Aug. 2 on all platforms.
