Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Trailer Nails Down September Release Date

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide release date set for September for Xbox and PC fatshark co-op launch trailer video footage gameplay

Developer Fatshark has announced that its four player co-op action game, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, will launch with a September 13, 2022 release date on PC, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox Game Pass. The launch comes quite a bit later than the previously promised spring 2022 launch plan but still sets a clear course for later this year. To celebrate a long-awaited release date reveal, Fatshark has published a video that features a cute cinematic and, more importantly, a little bit of gameplay. See the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide release date announcement trailer below.

Joining Fatshark in its endeavors to create an authentic Warhammer experience is veteran Warhammer novel author Dan Abnett. When he was announced to join the project, he talked about the importance of bringing human scale to the Warhammer universe: “It’s just you and the darkness, and that makes for a really incredible playing experience.”

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will put players in the middle of enemy swarms with nothing but their team at their back. So far, it seems fans can expect a Left 4 Dead-style experience with a healthy mix of inspiration from Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s melee combat. It was previously expected to launch last year, before Fatshark pushed the release date in hopes of creating a better final product. We’ll finally see the fruits of the studio’s labor later this year, so stay tuned for more updates before launch.
