Stranger Things 4 Official Trailer Reveals a War Coming to Hawkins

Stranger Things season 4 official trailer Netflix

Things in Hawkins have gotten real serious. While Stranger Things season 4 may be the most spread out that the show has ever been, in the newest, official trailer for the show it’s clear that a war is coming. Specifically, it’s coming to Hawkins as the Upside Down sends a slew of creatures and a big, bad villain our heroes’ way.

The fourth season picks up six months after the Battle of Starcourt, and things don’t seem to have gotten any easier for anyone. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Will (Noah Schnapp) have moved across the country to hopefully safer locales, but it appears that they’re struggling to fit in. Meanwhile, the gang at home seems to be separating a bit as high school progresses with Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) getting a bit more popular thanks to sports and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) joining a Dungeons & Dragons club at the school. Of course, it is Hopper (David Harbour) who has it worst of all, being stuck in a Russian prison that looks decidedly not so friendly. Then there’s Dr. Owens showing up to tell Eleven that she basically needs to save the world.

Stranger Things has come a long way from the first season, which was pretty much an homage to childhood adventure movies. Now we’re in the realm of major blockbusters and crazy action set pieces with plotlines unfolding in the past and present. Hopefully, the show doesn’t lose its way in this fourth season since fans have been waiting nearly three years just to finally get to watch it.

The first half of Stranger Things season 4 will drop on Netflix on May 27, as the official trailer reminds us.
