Star Wars Celebration has been a bit of a misnomer today — it’s been more like Lucasfilm Celebration. For instance, it revealed the Disney+ teaser trailer for the Willow revival. It also revealed the very first image of Indiana Jones 5, showing Harrison Ford back in the titular role as he navigates some sort of cavern. Indiana Jones 5 is directed by James Mangold, who also directed The Wolverine and Logan, and it has a new release date of June 30, 2023.
The plot of the movie is a total mystery right now, but Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Mangold co-wrote the script. Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel are producers, but George Lucas seems to have no involvement. Alongside Harrison Ford, the cast includes Antonio Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, and Shaunette RenĂ©e Wilson. You probably shouldn’t count on Shia LaBeouf reprising his role from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but few people are likely to be upset about that.

A first-look image and a release date isn’t a lot to go off of, but it’s still more Indiana Jones 5 news than we have had in a long time. Meanwhile, on the Star Wars front, Lucasfilm today revealed the Andor teaser trailer, The Mandalorian season 3 release date info, and the announcement of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
