Wildflower Interactive is a new indie studio filled with veteran game developers and led by The Last of Us director Bruce Straley. The studio’s website was sent live with a message that describes the team as “good people making good stuff.” Wildflower Interactive hopes to push the industry forward not only with positive work culture but with unique video games, too.
“We’re making ‘small-ish,’ creatively-charged, uniquely-stylized games that explore the possibilities of our medium,” explains the Wildflower website. “And we’re building a small, open-hearted team of creators that want to improve their skills and still lead a good life outside of work. People that want to hone their craft, have a say in the process, feel respected for their contributions, and be a part of the evolution of this awesome medium.”
Bruce Straley serves as director of Wildflower, but his team has quite the background as well. Along with experience creating games like Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us, members of the team have worked on titles like Abzu, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Astroneer, Call of Duty, and The Pathless. Wildflower is currently hiring for more roles as it moves ever closer to showing gamers what it can do.
Straley explained how Wildflower came to be in a studio announcement video published today. You can see that video below while we wait for more updates.
