Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Trailer From Studio Trigger Is Three Minutes of Sleek Anime Action

Netflix and Studio Trigger (Promare, Star Wars: Visions) have unleashed the full, official trailer for the Cyberpunk 2077 anime spinoff series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. While our last look at this hyper-stylized action series mostly served as a short tone-setter, today’s trailer brings a whopping three minutes of character introductions, beautiful animation, and familiar Cyberpunk 2077 locations as anime. It’s an ultra-violent package meant to meaningfully flesh out CD Projekt Red’s futuristic dystopia.

You can watch the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners trailer below. Studio Trigger threw this cut together itself, and if you’re even a little bit familiar with its work, you know you’re in for a doozy.

Much like the video game Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is based on, the 10-episode show looks like it will explore the inner workings of Night City and everyone who lives in it. Specifically, the story follows David, a street kid who soon becomes an edgerunner. He’ll be joined by some of the other cybernetically enhanced individuals shown off in today’s trailer, including Maine, Dorio, Kiwi, Pilar, Rebecca, Lucy, and more that we have yet to meet.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premieres on Netflix this September. Stay tuned for more updates as we wait for a release date. For more content soon on the way to Netflix, check out Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Jamie Foxx action comedy Day Shift, and the announcement of a new Death Note series from the Stranger Things creators.
