Journey to the Savage Planet is a colorful sci-fi adventure game developed by Typhoon Studios and published by 505 Games. You play as a new recruit who works for Kindred Aerospace, a company that prides itself on being the “4th best interstellar exploration company.” After crash-landing on an uncharted planet, your task is to document the alien life forms found on AR-Y 26 to determine if it is habitable for humans.
The planet has many secrets to unravel, as evidenced by the massive tower you discover early on. You can go it alone or brave the adventure alongside a friend through two-player online co-op. You are also accompanied by EKO, a witty computer system that helps analyze your findings.
Journey to the Savage Planet’s bright, vivid color scheme and pervasive humor make for an upbeat, lighthearted adventure that encourages exploration and rewards your curiosity. The combat scenarios are sparse yet evenly dispersed throughout, which means more time can be spent investigating the world’s many nooks and crannies. The exploration is satisfying enough that it always feels like you’re making progress and moving forward, even at a casual pace.
