A new PlayStation State of Play digital event from Sony is scheduled to broadcast this week on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. BT. In a post at the PlayStation.Blog, Senior Director of SIE Content Communications Sid Shuman announced that this upcoming State of Play will focus on third-party games coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR. There will be some updates regarding PlayStation 5 games as well, including the indie titles seen in the previous State of Play show back in June. The show will last for at least 40 minutes.
However, Shuman clarified that there will be no updates regarding PlayStation Studios or any large announcements of that caliber. Nothing new surrounding hardware, preorders, or dates will be present at the showcase either, which most likely means the price of the PlayStation 5 will not be revealed at this event.
State of Play returns Thursday at 1:00pm Pacific!

The PS5’s official hardware and line of accompanying accessories were unveiled in June. We already know a few details about the PlayStation 5, including details about its DualSense controller, as well as what the general game case design will look like. As for games, an unconfirmed report states that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 5 will also contain a full remaster of the PlayStation 4 Marvel’s Spider-Man title.
