Happy Friday, everyone! Let’s wrap up the week with some more video game news. For starters, CD Projekt Red has given us the latest details on the new Cyberpunk 2077 update. We also received word of the release date for Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster on consoles and PC, Dead Cells reached a major sales milestone, and more. CD Projekt Red Announces Details for New Cyberpunk 2077 Update
The Polish developer has given us more details about Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.2. It’s still planned to launch sometime in late March 2021 and will include multiple fixes including alterations to the police behavior in-game. It will now take longer for officials to arrive after you’ve committed a crime. Aside from that, the update will include better vehicle handling and even a new steering sensitivity slider. The Long Dark Has Surpassed 5 Million Copies Sold
As announced in a new Hinterland Studio developer update post, episodic survival game The Long Dark has surpassed 5 million copies sold. On top of that, the game has reached an additional 3.5 million players from Xbox Game Pass and the free Epic Game Store giveaway last year. The Long Dark originally launched in 2017 and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Dead Cells Has Also Sold 5 Million Copies
Developer Motion Twin has announced that Dead Cells has reached 5 million copies sold, with 1 million units being sold in China “within a few days.” This news comes ahead of the release of the game’s The Bad Seed DLC on mobile, which is scheduled to release on March 30. Dead Cells originally launched in 2018 and is available on several platforms including PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. The most recent DLC was Fatal Falls, which released for console and PC in January.

Bitmap Books Is Releasing a New Book All About Japanese Role-Playing Games
A Guide to Japanese Role-Playing Games is a new 652-page book that will launch on June 14, 2021. This massive book about JRPGs is being published by Bitmap Books and will cost about $48.54. It will cover famous series such as Pokémon, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, along with myriad more obscure entries — from the 8-bit era to modern times, totally in over 600 games covered. If you want to get really fancy, you can grab the collector’s edition that comes with a “heavy-board slipcase,” a bookmark, postcards, an A2 poster, and a flash drive that features demos for indie JRPGs that are currently in the works.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Release Date
Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster is headed to Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4 on May 25, 2021 as announced by Atlus today. The original game launched for PlayStation 2 in 2003, and now the remaster will be available in the West — and will include enhanced visuals and quality-of-life improvements, along with new voice-over tracks. It’s available to preorder now, and Dante from Devil May Cry will be available via DLC.
