I am speaking to Kabres, clan leader and many others of the guild members that took an active role in the writing of this spotlight. Enjoy 🙂
here we go:

What is special about your guild?
When you think about it, what makes a guild unique? It isn’t just a Charter or a set of ideals; it’s the identity of its players. Of course, we have our own unique beliefs, as does every guild; but memorable guilds are made by memorable players. Already, we’re witnessing this evolution. For Example, I can guarantee that most of the AoC community is familiar with the notorious Sturmrabe of the Snowhawk Clan, which we say with great respect. So you can see how the members make one guild distinguished from another… The Headhunters are no exception. We may fly under the same banner, but all of us are unique individuals with different play styles and quirky personalities. When you group with one of us, you will know it. ~Member Zetsumei and Leader Kabres

The Headhunters guild is special: It creates an opportunity for likeminded players, who are sick of typical MMOs and immature gamers. Together we are able to fashion a respectful, professional, and fun community-environment. Working together to complete our Leader’s objectives, the Guild Members treat each other with respect and form life-long bonds in our struggles throughout Hyboria. ~Headhunter Drethanas and Overlord Kabres

It’s like our motto says: “One guild, filled with many visions, serving one purpose in seamless harmony.”

A lot of gamers take their MMOs seriously, and the Headhunters have adopted the same attitude. Although we have a more casual atmosphere, we have incorporated some very “Hardcore” elements.

Who are the people of the guild?
One of the things we emphasize in our recruitment process is the type of player best suited to our philosophy. While we have fun adventuring in Hyboria, we want to conduct ourselves in a courteous, mature manner. A lot of gamers take their MMOs seriously, and the Headhunters have adopted the same attitude. Although we have a more casual atmosphere, we have incorporated some very “Hardcore” elements (as you will see in our guild structure). In short, we are a group of compatible players, with a competitive spirit and drive, to experience maximum fun and success. ~Headhunter Zetsumei and Overlord Kabres

To put it shortly, the people of the guild are amazing. We have become a community all in itself: A family, even. The people of our guild are what make the guild itself so great. Sure it’s nice to have a structured rank system, cool website, and forums set up. But, without the quality people we have with us, all of the fancy extras would be worth nothing. ~Headhunter Korgoth and Overlord Kabres

Our guild is comprised of members who are mature, creative, and serious; but can have fun and enjoy the game. We are people from all walks of life who have come together to enjoy ourselves in the rich environment of Conan, to meet people, and to be the best at what we do. ~Headhunter Drethanas and Overlord Kabres

What is the guild size?
Currently we are around 50 members, and new recruits apply every day. We’re confident we’ll be one of the top contenders come launch day. Our numbers may not be as impressive as those found in some other guilds; but what we lack in quantity, we make up for with quality. We don’t believe that just anyone is Headhunter material, and our application process reflects that. Our growth is steady, and the end result is a group of people who are dedicated to our cause and truly believe in what we stand for. ~Headhunter Zetsumei and Overlord Kabres

What servers are you gunning for (us, eu …etc)?
Well, as we’ve been recruiting we have to bear in mind that Funcom has, for now, decided to go with regional server separation. This has caused us to limit recruiting to US and Canada players only (subject to change). So obviously, we’ll be playing on a US server. Also, keeping with the Spirit of the Headhunters, we’ll be heading into a PvP server for sure – though probably not one of the free-for-all types. Of course we enjoy player killing as much as the next barbarian, but we’d like to avoid the “griefers” who are just out to give you a hard time. After all, this is a game, and we want every minute in Hyboria to be more enjoyable than the last! Another server type we may look into is a PvP RP server. We are an optional light role play guild, and often enjoy the type of people that join RP servers. Role play is not mandatory in our guild, it is just there for an added sense of immersion if the member so chooses. ~Headhunter Zetsumei and Overlord Kabres

How do you look on interaction with other guilds?
Already, the Headhunters have made many friends within the AoC community. Namely, the Black Lotus, Angels of Death, and the Twilight Dynasty. Now make no mistake, we don’t want to have the image of being a “Carebear” guild, but we believe that every guild, friend or foe, deserves our respect. As the history of AoC unfolds, I’m sure our allegiances will change, enemies will conspire against us, and indeed; Heads are gonna roll … 8) ~Headhunter Zetsumei and Overlord Kabres

We are a highly structured guild. We are composed of a Guild Leader, Officers with specific duties, Elder Members able to take on responsibilities such as “City Mayor,” and Standard Members that are the bulk of our force.

How are you structured socially (ranks, groups…)?
We are a highly structured guild. We are composed of a Guild Leader, Officers with specific duties, Elder Members able to take on responsibilities such as “City Mayor,” and Standard Members that are the bulk of our force. We employ Divisions to help keep the productivity and morale high within the guild. We have the THH Battery, which is our primary adventuring division, the THH Siegeworks, which is our primary and “dedicated” crafting division, and finally we have The Blood Legion, which is our “Anytime, Anywhere” hardcore PvP, and Raiding Division.

All three divisions support and maintain the other. This ensures that everyone fits into a role they feel most comfortable in, but assures that everyone has a place and purpose with maximized efficiency in their allotted amount of time to play the game. This is a complicated Guild Structure that can not be adequately explained in such a brief synopsis, so I have provided a link to the document in its entirety by clicking -HERE- ~Overlord Kabres

What is your take on player cities?
I really have to tilt my “Cotton Cap” to Funcom for this. 😉 Player cities add a whole new experience to the MMO scene that really has never been done before. For the first time players will be able to impact the game world in a way that is meaningful. I think it gives the player a genuine sense of accomplishment to see their work come to life in a tangible form. The idea that perhaps tomorrow you will wake up and find something in the world that wasn’t there yesterday, is really interesting to me. I think it’ll be fascinating to see the world come to life in a way never before seen in the MMO genre. ~Headhunter Zetsumei and Overlord Kabres

What is your take on in-game taxes and loot distribution?
This is an interesting idea. Taxes could be a great way for guilds to fund their cities, battle keeps, crafting, etc. Personally, I feel the Guild Members should always be willing to give something back to the guild that has given so much to them. This way, each person contributes an equal amount and no one has an excuse not to help out. Even lower level members who may not have any great crafts or skills to offer can still do their part. ~Headhunter Zetsumei and Overlord Kabres

What excites you most about Age of Conan?
I think what most excites me is the potential for this game to have an exceptional community. Funcom has tried to appeal to a more mature audience, which is something the MMO genre has been lacking for a great length of time. Too many times, have we seen the same fantasy setting with elves, dwarves, whimsical magic, and little to no realism. AoC is the first MMO to incorporate a realistic feel into the game, and it’s long overdue. ~Headhunter Zetsumei and Overlord Kabres

How are you planning on communicating in-game (raids, sieges etc…)?
We plan to use a Teamspeak and or Ventrilo Voice Server.

What are you looking for in a potential member?
Maturity, Respect, Honor, Experience, Dedication, Skill, Loyalty, etc…Am I asking for too much? LOL

We want quality team players that work well with others, are innovative, respectful and have a strong desire to assist in making the organization the very best it can be. We have a minimum age of 18 in order to apply, and our ages currently range from 18-45. Older gamers are welcome to apply. Females are also encouraged to apply, as they will be a valued and equal part of our member body. ~Overlord Kabres

And finally, How to apply?
To apply makes sure you read and understand both our Charter, and our Guild Structure. The Charter can be found -HERE- and the Guild Structure can be found -HERE-

These documents are our life blood. After you have read and fully understood them, you can go to our main website which is www.headhuntersguild.info and use the online form to fill out an application. This application gets sent directly to me, and I will then place it for review in the Officers section of our forums. After you submit your online application…register on our forums with the same first name you used on the application, and make an introductory post to start the process. Might sound a little complicated, but examples are left on our forums from previous applicants that can help guide the way. Currently we are accepting anyone that can and will play on a United States Regional Server, and is 18 years of age or older. I will amend a previous statement here, if our friends in other countries feel confident they will be able to play on our server, I will open up recruitment to them. I don’t want anyone left behind or left out! ~Overlord Kabres

Final words.
This interview was a written collaboration by me and members of the Guild Body. In The Headhunters Guild, you have a voice. Come and be a part of a “Premier” AoC Guild. We are currently seeking all races and classes. We encourage both Male and Females to apply within our ranks. I would also like to point out that we are a “semi” democratic guild, in that we institute voting to fill Officer Roles and other sensitive topics. In summary, you will not find your typical “good o’l boys club” here. Our only concern is to be successful, to be the best at what we do, and ensure our members have a blast doing it! ~Overlord Kabres
