Today’s screenshot/abilities combo shows off the four abilities you’re used to seeing and a shot from inside “The Cage”. This week’s abilities include ones called “Countdown”, “Raid”, “Summon” and “Ruin”. The screenshot, of course, is exclusive to WarCry.
Fury is a PvP-driven MMORPG currently in Beta testing. It should launch this fall from developer Auran and publisher Gamecock.

Picking a class in most MMOs is a difficult decision. In choosing a class you effectively make a decision about what role you’d like to play. From this point on you’re left at the discretion of the development team as to how they envision the class’s gameplay, role and balance. Hopefully their vision and balance align with yours. If it doesn’t, it may be time to re-roll or even time for a new game.
Fury breaks the class mold entirely. In Fury, you are able to learn abilities from each of the four schools and eight disciplines. You are then given the freedom to create templates consisting of any of the abilities your avatar has learned. You aren’t tied to the developer’s vision of a ‘tank’, ‘healer’ or ‘hybrid’. You define your own vision, your own path, your own Incarnation.
All abilities in Fury are associated with one of the four schools and eight disciplines. The abilities from each school are focused on one primary element and two secondary elements. The four elements are Water, Nature, Fire, and Air.
The following are a few examples from Fury’s 400+ distinct abilities.
Name: Countdown Element: Fire School: Death Discipline: Destroyer Charges: Consumption Effects Category: Buff – AoE (Debuff – persist) Target Type: Single Description: A physical attack that deals heavy Fire damage and places a Countdown Torment on the target. If this Torment is not cured swiftly, it will explode, dealing Fire damage to the target and their nearby allies. Tip: The immediate damage is substantial, but the real kicker is from the explosion at the end of the countdown. Players who aren’t watching their debuff indicators will get a nasty surprise, as will any of their teammates near them. | |
Name: Summon Element: Nature School: Death Discipline: Destroyer Charges: Consumption Effects Category: Teleport – other Target Type: Single Description: A physical attack that forces the target to teleport towards the user. The target will be stunned momentarily after the teleport. Targets are less likely to succumb to disruption effects the more often they are used. Tip: Summon is very useful for characters facing an enemy who is relying on range and kiting. Summon them into physical attack range and unleash on the stunned enemy. | |
Name: Raid Element: Water School: Growth Discipline: Warden Charges: Generation Effects Category: Rush – debuff Target Type: Single Target Description: Causes the user to rush forward and attack their target, lowering the target’s movement speed. Tip: Great for chasing down runners – especially crystal carriers in vortex games or someone making a break for a powerup. The debuff means you should have no problems keeping your opponent in range to finish them off. | |
Name: Ruin Element: Air School: Decay Discipline: Overlord Charges: Generation Effects Category: Debuff Target Type: Single Target Description: A physical attack that Diseases the target, reducing their maximum health. Tip: Debuffs that reduce an enemy’s maximum health or directly affect it are the most useful because they provide you with an immediate advantage over any enemy. |
