PC Graphics Tweaks Guide

Use these guides to help configure your PC SOMA experience.

To improve frame rate performance, disable Anti-Aliasing, SMAOO, and Mouse Smoothing. These settings are not required on 1080p resolution.

Warning: This guide involves altering important SOMA installation files. If you’re new to configuring settings on PC, make back-ups.


How to Unlock FPS

Text in [Brackets] will be different for each user.

  • Locate the folder; [ProfileName]\Documents\My Games\Soma\Main\
  • In this folder, find the file; [ProfileName]_[####]_user_settings.cfg
  • Open with any text-editing program like Notepad, then search for the line: Engine LimitFPS=”true”
  • Change to: Engine LimitFPS=”false”
  • Save and close the text document, then start SOMA and go to Options/Display — Set ‘Maximum Refresh Rate’ and turn of VSync

How to Change FOV

Text in [Brackets] will be different for each user. Please remove brackets when inputting FOV value.

  • Locate the folder; [ProfileName]\Documents\My Games\Soma\Main\
  • In this folder, find the file; [ProfileName]_[####]_user_settings.cfg
  • Open with any text-editing program like Notepad, then search for the line: Gameplay FOV=”[####]”
  • Replace the number with your preferred FOV. For example: Gameplay FOV=”90.000000″
