Publisher Electronic Arts plans to close an England studio.
Developer and publisher Electronic Arts has decided to shut down its Warrington branch in England. The fifty workers from the studio will be offered jobs at EA’s Chertsey or Guildford studios in southeast England.
EA claims that the goal of the redeployment of staff is to consolidate its U.K. developers and reinforce the larger development houses. The Warrington team assisted the now defunct DICE for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on the consoles. Criterion leader and producer Fiona Sperry has recently been placed at the helm of the Chertsey office, where many of the Warrington employees are likely to rejoin the company.
