Halo 3 Beta Coming

To coincide with the fifth anniversary of Halo, Microsoft has announced a Halo 3 beta, a new 60 second ad and new Halo 2 maps.

This Spring, Microsoft will be releasing a Halo 3 multiplayer beta over Xbox Live, allowing players to contribute to the design process for the first time in the series. “After five years of rabid fan interest in the Halo franchise and with more than 4 million users and counting on Xbox Live worldwide, this is the perfect time to invite fans to join the global Halo phenomenon,” said Shane Kim, corporate VP of Microsoft Game Studios. Around the same time, Bungie will also be releasing new Halo 2 maps for download.

On December 4th, ESPN will air a 60 second Halo 3 ad containing new footage. The ad will also go live on Xbox.com so gamers outside North America can check it out.
