Hip-Hop Gaming League Starts Second Season

The Hip-Hop Gaming League begins another season.

Snoop Dogg’s Hip-Hop Gaming League (HHGL) announced the launch of their second season. New competitions include a public league where anyone who registers at the HHGL site will be able to compete in online XBox 360 tournaments for a spot at the February 16 finals in Las Vegas. Events will air on MTV and Spike TV’s Game Head, with additional coverage from Vibe magazine.

Continuing last season’s tradition of signing sports and music celebrities, this season will feature 32 famous personalities to compete against each other in XBox Live tournaments. Each competitor will be sent an XBox 360 with NCAA 07 Football. Additional games, such as Saints Row, Madden NFL 07, NFL 2K7 and NBA 2K7, may be added into the mix as the tournament continues.

Signed celebrities include: Paul Wall, Just Blaze, Krayzie Bone, Cobi Jones, Jalen Rose, Yung Joc, Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Lil Wayne, Birdman, DJ Maseo, Malice and Pusha T, DJ Revolution, Xololanxinxo, Lil Keke, Hi-Tek, Big Pooh, Warren G, Jibbs, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Aaron McGruder, Brandon Marshall, Darnell Bing, Michael Robinson and Trevor Ariza.

Snoop Dogg has shown excitement for the new, fan-powered season of the HHGL. “Yo, the HHGL is slammin’ this season, with some of the baddest gamers in hip-hop and pro sports. This time around, the fans are gonna get into the game, going up against superstars like my main man Eric V, B-Real, David Banner, Lupe Fiasco, Lil Wayne, Warren G, Cobi Jones and so many other brothas I can’t even give ’em all shout-outs. Just play the game, ya dig?”
