Rebellion announced today the acquisition of Ignition’s development studio which was previously known as Awesome Developments.
Rebellion had a very sucessful 2006, winning both Developer of the Year and Most Improved Developer of the Year at the TIGA Awards anf Develop Industry Excellence Awards respectively, won TIGA Awards for Best Developer and Best Hand Held and Console Game for Miami Vice, and was nominated for two BAFTA awards for best character and best screen play for Rogue Trooper.
Rebellion’s CEO and Creative Director Jason Kingsley noted that the acquisition raises the Rebellion headcount to 280 full-time staff, and the extra highly talented members will be a valuable addition to the team.
