The upcoming PlayStation 3 release Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will weigh in at less than 2GB.
Eurogamer.net reported that the download stood at 1870MB from the PlayStation Network, where the publication acquired the game for its review.
The size of various PS3 games have been a subject of interest for gamers as they debate the console’s advantage in supporting the Blu-ray format, whose discs can contain 50GB of data.
Game movies will be on disc for the Blu-ray version, but Eurogamer.net said some space was saved on the PSN version by leaving the game’s cinematics on the server until the player downloads them him- or herself.
In contrast, Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the first PS3 game to use a 50GB region-specific disc to fit all its game data.
