Checking in with its yearly financial results, Nintendo reported a 73 percent sales jump for the fiscal year.
That figure complemented the 115.6 percent operating income climb and 47.7 percent profit increase.
Absolute sales numbers amounted to $16.1 billion with profit clocking in at $2.48 billion, made possible by the sale of almost 19 million Wiis and more than 30 million Nintendo DS units.
Helping out the profit marging on the software end were Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for a total of 10 million, with the Brain Training series adding another 12 million.
However, sales forecasts for next year have been pared down to just 7.6 percent due to a negative economic outlook and a rising Yen, as more than 80 percent of the company’s income flows from outside of Japan.
