Despite recent tribulations, E3 may still have a few surprises up its sleeve, including the possibility of a big one coming courtesy of Bungie.
The latest podcast from Bungie includes plenty of talk about Halo, according to a report by Kotaku, but as things are wrapping up, hosts Brian Jarrard and Luke Smith suggest that something bigger may be on the horizon at next week’s show.
Jarrard: Isn’t there something going on on July 14th or something like that?
Smith: Yeah, around then.
Jarrard: Somehow that’s sticking in my head for some reason. Guess we’ll have to see.
Smith: Yup, we’ll just have to be patient. Who could say?
Kotaku editor Michael McWhertor, who made the report, says that hearing the exchange is much more effective than simply reading it, “as Smith and Jarrard’s delivery leaves little doubt that Bungie has something up its sleeve.”
Both Microsoft, Bungie’s long-time publishing partner (and until recently, owner) and Electronic Arts are scheduled to hold press briefings on July 14, so it won’t be too surprising if Bungie has hooked up with one of the two powerhouses for its next project. Have a listen to the wink-wink-nudge-nudge exchange (along with an hour and a half of other conversation) here.
