“Weird Al” Puts The Doors on Craigslist

“Weird Al” Yankovic has unleashed his latest single on the internet, an homage to The Doors in which he asks a very simple question: Do you want my styrofoam peanuts?

Craigslist, Al’s newest song, features clever and amusing lyrics about swapping stuff and making connections on the massive online classifieds network of the same name, but where it really stands out is in its dead-on parody of The Doors. Al nails the mannerisms of Doors frontman Jim Morrison and the video for the track is a fantastic reflection of the band’s psychedelic, drug-fueled reputation.

Adding even greater authenticity and a good dose of groovy is the inclusion of Ray Manzarek, the former Doors keyboardist, who plays on the track. Craiglist is currently available as a single at iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and most other major music sites and will be included on Al’s next album, set to be released next year.

So, do you want my styrofoam peanuts? The trash can’s not part of the deal.
