Sonic Turns 18, Sega Hands Out Birthday Loot

image

It’s Sonic the Hedgehog’s 18th birthday and to celebrate, Sega is giving away a pile of sweet Sonic loot on Twitter and Facebook.

The very first Sonic the Hedgehog game was released for the Sega Genesis on this day all the way back in 1991 and to mark his passage into manhood, Sega is giving away prize packs of Sonic merchandise like a Summer of Sonic t-shirt, a Sonic 3 code for the Xbox 360 Marketplace, a Sonic X Kids Pack, Sonic stationery pack and much more.

Entering is simple: On Twitter, keep your eyes on “sonicgames” and tweet a reply with the unique code phrase for each prize package, which will be given out over the course of the day. To help keep things fair, a preselected response number will “often” be chosen as a winner – for instance, the 15th reply gets the prize.

On Facebook, simply become a Sonic fan at www.facebook.com/sonic and then watch for prize pack announcements, which will be accompanied by a topic of the the judge’s choice; winners will be selected from the best wall posts and comments on each topic.

A full list of prizes and contest rules can be found at the Sonic City Blognik but since the action is already underway, I suggest you get on with it. Free stuff awaits!
