The trailer for the Far Cry 3 Insane Edition is a beautiful sweetheart, but completely nuts.
It’s no surprise that a special collector’s edition of Far Cry 3 is in the works. What is a little surprising is the need for an age rating on the announcement video. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a collector’s edition reveal trailer quite like this one.
As awesome as it is, the video isn’t entirely clear about what’s on offer in the Far Cry 3 Insane Edition, so here’s the full lowdown. You get “Survival Kit” packaging, an island survival guide, nearly two hours of exclusive content including three single-player missions and the pièce de résistance, an “Insane Vaas Wahine,” created by a “deranged mind who decapitated a beautiful wahine to put his own head on it.”
I would absolutely pay extra for this, but the bad news is that at this point, it’s only slated for a European release. Ubisoft hasn’t said anything about plans for a North American release [at least, not that I’ve noticed], but my fingers are crossed. I mean, look at her. Look how beautiful she looks.

Far Cry 3 comes out on September 4 in North America and September 6 in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
