The publisher behind Gemini Rue and Resonance has put out a pre-release demo for its newest adventure, the post-apocalyptic Primordia.
If you’re a fan of old-school adventures, you should probably direct your eyes to Primordia, the latest pixellated creation to come out of Wadjet Eye. Developed by indie outfit Wormwood Studios, Primordia tells the tale of Horatio Nullbuilt v5 and his sidekick Crispin, a pair of solitary robots who embark upon an adventure to the glowing city of Metropol after their only source of energy is stolen. As with previous Wadjet Eye adventures, the graphics are low-resolution but striking and combine with an understated soundtrack and a twisting mystery to generate atmosphere to spare.
I’ve got a few hours into the game already and while it’s very preliminary and there’s still plenty of time for things to go wrong, the deeper I go, the better it gets. But you don’t have to take my word for it, because Wadjet Eye has released a playable demo that will give you a good taste of what’s in store: an old-school experience with an intriguing plot, logical puzzles and progression and tiny, unmarked items and hotspots that will drive you bananas.
Primordia comes out on December 5 and is also up for voting on Steam Greenlight. To find out more about the game, snag a copy of the demo or lay down your coin for a copy of the limited edition DVD release, point yourself at Primordiagame.com.
