お知らせしておきます。6月11日23時配信のNintendo Directで、新作『スマブラ』の映像が初披露となります。世界同時、ここが初! お見逃しなく。— 桜井 政博 (@Sora_Sakurai) June 6, 2013
Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that footage of the new Super Smash Bros. title will be shown at E3.
Nintendo fans will no doubt be pleased to hear that the new Super Smash Bros. game will in fact make its debut next week at E3. The appearance has been confirmed by Sakurai, who tweeted earlier today, “Notice: On the June 11th 11PM Nintendo Direct, the first footage of the new Smash Bros will be aired for the first time. For the first time, simultaneously worldwide! Don’t miss it.”
A few minutes later, he (almost) confirmed that he too will be at the show, tweeting, “I’ll probably be in the U.S.A. [when the trailer is shown]. Off to E3.”
Nintendo actually confirmed that a Super Smash Bros. game would be made for the 3DS and Wii U back at E3 2011, although work apparently didn’t begin until mid-2012. The game is being developed by Sakurai’s Sora Ltd. and Namco Bandai.
Sakurai’s tweet presumably refers to 11 pm JST (Japanese Standard Time), which translates to 10 am EDT – the start time of Nintendo’s E3 presser. For those who haven’t been watching the calendar, this year’s E3 runs from June 11 to 13.
