A Vine posted to the Telltale Games Twitter teases Bigby Wolf in action.
It’s been well over two years since Telltale Games announced it was developing a game adaptation of Bill Willingham’s Fables comic book series. Telltale was pretty tight-lipped about any additional details until earlier this year; the developer was probably busy creating the successful Walking Dead episodic series. Not to worry, Fables fans: The Wolf Among Us remains in development, with the first episode of the Bigby Wolf-led game due out this year. And to remind us all, Telltale gave a brief glimpse at the game on Twitter today.

Telltale’s Vine only gives us a seconds-long look at the titular Big Bad Wolf, but it’s good to see something after such a long wait. It was announced several months ago that Wolf Among Us would be a prequel to the main Fables series, which gives the developers room to craft a story without messing with the comic’s narrative. In March, Telltale CEO Dan Connors said that creating The Wolf Among Us “allowed our studio to build upon all of the hallmarks of what makes our episodic series so engaging for players.”
There’s still no solid release date for first episode of The Wolf Among Us; an earlier report of summer 2013 seems pretty unlikely, given that it’s halfway through August. I’ve been following this game since its announcement, and it’s hard not to be impatient (though the recent release of The Walking Dead‘s 400 Days DLC helped pass the time). Perhaps today’s Vine is a sign that we’ll have more news soon. When Telltale reveals a start date for The Wolf Among Us, we’ll keep you posted.
