Gotta get all the codes!
Four weeks of clue-hunting and plenty of Pokemon prizes to win: the Pokemon Company has announced a competition leading up to the release of Pokemon X and Y. The promotion is only available in the U.S. and began today with a video the company posted on YouTube. To begin, participants should watch the video carefully for a six-character code to input on the official promotion website.
Every prize needs to be unlocked via a code. Clues and challenges will be made available each week for the next month. The prizes included are one 3DS, nine Pokemon Trading Card and figure boxes, 20 Black 2/White 2 official national Pokedex and guides, 16 Pokemon plush toys, four Pokemon X 3DS game download codes, and four Pokemon Y 3DS game download codes. These will be available each week, meaning there are a total of 216 prizes. After entering a code, a Pokeball will unlock on the contest page. Each of the 24 Pokeballs has a Pokemon, a digital gift, and a chance to win one of the prizes.
According to the sweepstakes’ rules page, there is a free code that grants participants one entry into the sweepstakes, but it will not unlock a Pokemon character on the site or give the participant a digital gift.
The contest ends on Oct. 12, the release date for Pokemon X and Y. The four approximate drawing dates for prizes are Sept. 23, Sept. 30, Oct. 7, and Oct. 14.
