Shadowrun Returns Goes DRM Free

This new DRM policy will go for Berlin, and all future expansions.

It’s always great to have a good Kickstarter, and Shadowrun Returns exceeded expectations, raising over $1.8 million when Harebrained Studios only asked for a measly $400,000. Well, there are consequences when you go as far as that, and one of the consequences for this title is that it’s now DRM free. Completely and utterly, and that goes for Berlin and all future expansions, says Harebrained.

This is thanks to a deal the developers hammered out with Microsoft. “The DRM-free versions of SRR and Berlin will continue to be fully supported,” says Harebrained. “You’ll be able to download all game patches, use the Shadowrun Returns editor and experience user-generated content downloaded from third-party sites such as Nexus.”

There are also plans to take it to GOG, but there’s no telling when that will happen. At the moment, if you want this one, it’s Steam – Mac and PC – iOS, or Android; but that will be changing, by the sound of things.
