Crafting the perfect Christmas gift takes love, imagination, time, and a little help from Sackboy.
We’ve all had those holidays where are all you want to do is play some games. Family is great and all, and the cookies aren’t too bad, but fragging a couple thousand Nazis or questing in Icecrown to get that dang Ebon Blade rep is much more important. Mark Brown decided to chuck all that and make spending time with his family on Christmas morning about the act of gaming, as he tells in issue 231 of The Escapist:
For Christmas last year, I wanted to let my parents know I noticed and appreciated their sacrifices. I wanted to present them with a gift that required more consideration, time and effort than a Hallmark card and a packet of chocolate truffles wrapped in glitzy gold paper. I wanted to create the dry-macaroni picture frame for the 21st century, a gift so thoughtful and personal they’d remember it for years to come.
