Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Kraven

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has Kraven the Hunter coming to New York, with the intention of hunting down the city’s villains. But how successful is he in that? If you want to know all villains killed by Kraven in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, I’ve got the answer, along with some spoilers.

Here’s Who Is On Kraven’s Hit List in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Early on in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Kraven is handed a tablet showing a map of New York. Marked on this map are a host of villains, presumably selected by one of Kraven’s subordinates. The idea is that he’ll hunt down and kill every single one and, as we discover later, take some kind of trophy. But just who is on this kill list?

The list contains these “villains” (some are anti-heroes/reformed):

  • Black Cat
  • Prowler
  • Wraith
  • Tombstone
  • Sandman
  • Vulture
  • Taskmaster
  • Electro
  • Kingpin
  • Doctor Octopus

Kingpin, Electro and Doctor Octopus are all shown as being in the Raft, but the others are “in the wild,” dotted around New York City.

How Many Villains Does Kraven Actually Kill?

By the time the credits roll on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’ve only seen Kraven kill one villain, Mac Gargan aka Scorpion.

However, when Mary Jane Watson is exploring Kraven’s lair, she discovers evidence, including trophies and audio logs, that the hunter has killed three villains off-screen: Vulture, Electro and Shocker. Just when they died isn’t clear, but it may have been up to six months before the game began due to the timeline.

Does this mean they’re actually dead? Probably. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s whole world is based upon the comics and comics have a way of bringing bad guys back from the dead. There was a tongue-in-cheek scene in one of Marvel’s own comics, which showed a “resurrection casino,” where characters gambled for their chance to live again in regular continuity. And there have been clones… so, so many clones.

But I doubt that Insomniac will bother resurrecting these bad guys. They weren’t particularly instrumental to the original game’s story, as they were mostly just muscle for Doctor Octavius to fling at Spider-Man.

So if you wanted to know all the villains killed by Kraven in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, he takes out: Scorpion, Electro, Shocker and Vulture.
