Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will introduce twin siblings as playable protagonists – but you definitely don’t want to miss with the sister Evie.
It’s taken several annual releases, but Assassin’s Creed is finally arriving at my favorite historical setting: Victorian-era London, England. But perhaps the most interesting details are its two playable protagonists, the brash criminal Jacob and the colder, more refined assassin Evie. It’s the latter who was finally showcased at Sony’s latest E3 press event, and we have to agree with Jacob’s narration – it’s a good idea not to mess with Evie.
Effecitvely the first “modern” Assassin’s Creed game, Syndicate follows Jacob and Evie as they complete assassination missions during a very different revolution – the Industrial one. Details have been kept to a minimum, but these characters are on a quest to overthrow corruption in London’s streets, preventing the rich from taking complete advantage of the people. Along the way, they’ll meet historical figures like Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin while putting a stop to Templar conspiracies.
Unlike Unity, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will have no co-op missions – an interesting choice despite having two playable protagonists. Still, if it helps Ubisoft keep the story tighter this time around, all the better. Your hunts in Merry Old London will begin on Oct. 23, 2015.
