Gamers are going to get a chance to check out Battlestar Galactica Online pretty soon, thanks to an open beta that’s starting in a couple of weeks.
At the moment, we’re firmly in the midst of a dearth of Battlestar Galactica television programming thanks to the death of Caprica and the fact that the upcoming prequel, Blood & Chrome has yet to receive an air date. Fans of the TV series will probably be relieved to hear that Syfy’s tie-in MMO, Battlestar Galactica Online is starting its open beta very soon.
The free-to-play MMO’s open beta is set to start February 8. The game is going to be playable on the Web, and will allow players to engage in what looks like some fierce space combat action. Players will be able to play as either humans or Cylons, pilot ships, wander through space stations, and even hang out with major characters from the TV series.
For a web-based MMO, the game’s gameplay trailer features some pretty solid graphics. if you’re interested in being a part of the beta, head over to the game’s official site and sign up.
