With the addition of Topaz and Numby to Honkai: Star Rail, some older characters that had fallen off are being given new life, and Herta is one of them. If you’re pulling for Topaz, it’s time to finally level and build your Herta in Honkai: Star Rail, and this guide will cover the best way to do just that!
Best Herta Build in Honkai: Star Rail
Topaz brings with her an entirely new meta built around follow-up attacks. Her skills and abilities crank the damage and viability of follow-up attacks up to S-tier. We’re also getting new relic sets that cater to builds focused around follow-up attacks to make things even sweeter. To be clear, you’ll need to pull Topaz to make characters like Herta viable; the new relics alone won’t be enough. With that in mind, here’s how you should be looking to build Herta for a Topaz team.
Best Relic Sets for Herta
You’ll want to go for the new relic set Grand Duke Incinerated to Ashes after it releases in patch 1.5, which is slated for release in mid-November. This set is designed around boosting follow-up attacks. We’ll be using the 4-piece set to provide a 16% increase to follow-up Attack Damage plus an 8% Attack Damage bonus that stacks up to 8 times. This triggers whenever you deal additional damage, as in a follow-up attack. Get ready to Kuru Kuru everything to death as Herta spins to win in this set.
Until the set is out, though, it’ll be best to use two-piece Hunter of Glacial Forest and two-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat for your relics, as at the time of writing, those are your absolute best options for a Herta build in Honkai: Star Rail.
For the Planetary set we’ll be using the 2-piece of the new Firmament Frontline Glamoth set after it becomes available in patch 1.5. This will provide a 12% increase to Attack Damage as well as a 12-20% damage boost depending on whether your Speed stat is above 135 or 160 respectively. Until this set is released, you should use the Space Sealing set.
Best Relic Stats for Herta
For our main implicit stats on the Relics we’ll want the following: Crit Rate on the Body, Speed on the Boots, Ice Damage on the Planar Sphere, and Attack % on the Link Rope. You’ll want to prioritize sub-stats in the following order: Crit Damage > Speed > Crit Rate > Attack % > Flat Attack.
These stats are designed to build up Herta’s damage output as much as possible with high Attack and Crit stats as well as high Speed to trigger the Planar set bonus damage benefit.
Best Light Cone
The 5-Star Light Cone Before Dawn (which is Jing Yuan’s signature Light Cone) is currently the best in slot for follow-up attacks. Most players won’t have this on hand, so the next best option is to go for the 4-Star Light Cone The Birth of the Self. This Light Cone increases follow-up attack damage by 24 – 48% plus an additional 24 – 48% when the enemy is below 50% HP. The damage depends on the Super Imposition level of your Light Cone, with 24% being level 1 and 48% being level 5. This Light Cone at level 5 Super Imposition is pretty wild, as a nearly 100% boost to follow-up attack damage against enemies under 50% HP is huge!
That’s how you can best build your Herta up to become a powerful part of a Topaz team in Honkai: Star Rail. It’s awesome to a neglected character brought back into the spotlight thanks to Topaz, and I can’t wait to see how wild these follow-up attacks will get!
