Bioware GM Says Mass Effect: Andromeda is “Totally Softcore Space Porn”

The ESRB rating for Mass Effect: Andromeda now says it has “full nudity,” and Bioware’s GM is calling the game “softcore space porn.”

We’ve learned a lot more about Mass Effect: Andromeda this month, including the game’s PC system requirements, and the fact that it will have meaningful side quests. But here’s one you’ve probably never heard: According to Bioware GM Aaryn Flynn, Andromeda is basically “softcore space porn.”

This comes via the above tweet, which is part of a discussion that was sparked by Flynn mentioning that the game’s ESRB description was changed from “partial nudity” to “full nudity.” The ESRB rating isn’t final yet, but the game has a provisional “M” for blood, strong language, nudity, strong sexual content and violence, according to its GameStop page.

Of course, your first thought would be that Flynn is just trolling us, but in a subsequent tweet, he dismisses that possibility. When asked if he was trolling, he replied,

All of this is interesting to those who have followed the series for a while, because of the controversy that surrounded the first Mass Effect, which was blasted by then Fox News contributor Cooper Lawrence for its love scenes, which she claimed should have netted the game an Adults Only rating. Lawrence later apologized for her comments.

We’re not all that far from finding out just how racy the newest Mass Effect will be. Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 21.
