Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled plans for its fourth BlizzCon gaming convention, to be held in Anaheim, California in August 2009.

The 2009 event has been expanded to four convention halls to accommodate the growing popularity of the festival, a two-day event built around Blizzard’s popular Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo franchises. As always, the show this year will feature discussion panels with Blizzard staff, casual and competitive tournaments, contests, a silent auction, numerous prizes for attendees and, of course, hands-on time with upcoming Blizzard games.

“We’ve been amazed by the incredible response to each of our previous BlizzCon events,” said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime. “We’re pleased to be bringing the convention back to Anaheim this year, and we look forward to this new opportunity to meet Blizzard gamers from around the world.”

BlizzCon 2009 will take place on August 21 and 22 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. More information, including ticket availability and pricing, will be posted at blizzcon.com as it becomes available.
