Blizzard Entertainment announced a slight delay for the highly-anticipated World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade, pushing the release date to January of 2007.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm surrounding World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, and we’re excited about putting the finishing touches on all of the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, in a press release issued today. “We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve.”
The Burning Crusade closed beta began this month, open to select invitees only. WarCry’s crack team of WoW heads have been chronicling their adventures in the Outland and have posted a thorough guide to the expansion.
According to Blizzard, an exact release date and pricing info for The Burning Crusade will be released “in the near future.”
