The development team behind acclaimed indie game Castle Crashers is set to announce its newest project tomorrow.
The announcement is slated to take place via the team’s official Twitch channel on Thursday Jan. 30 at 5pm Pacific Time. Prior to that, team members will stream playthroughs of each of their previous games, starting with Alien Hominid, then Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater, and finally Pit People.
Community manager Roxanne Sabo and marketing strategist Manuel Sepulveda Gutierrez confirmed the upcoming announcement in a recent Twitch stream, the relevant segment of which was later shared on Twitter:

No hints of what this new project is are available at the present time. The Behemoth has so far dabbled in multiple genres, from platformers to strategy games, but all of its projects have featured 2D or 2.5D environments and cartoonish visual styles. Of its previous games, BattleBlock Theater and Castle Crashers have been particularly well regarded, each earning a Metacritic average score of over 80.
However, perhaps tellingly, the team is currently seeking a network programmer to help create online systems “to support action-oriented multiplayer games and online services supporting things like leaderboards and matchmaking.”
The team’s most recent launch was the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 versions of Castle Crashers, which arrived in September last year.
