We may be only a few months away from the conclusion of the latest Star Wars trilogy, but that doesn’t mean there still aren’t new things to discover about the original set of films. For instance, there’s this unearthed clip of Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford screen testing for their roles in A New Hope.
My screen-test for @starwars w/ Harrison on the 1st day I ever met him. Neither 1 of us had read the script at this point, only this 1 scene. I asked George what kind of movie it was-"Let's just do it, we'll talk about that later" We never did talk about it later-we just did it. https://t.co/e7cHWoLmJk

The scene being tested is from when Luke and Han arrive at Alderaan to find the planet completely destroyed by the Empire’s Death Star. It’s longer than the actual scene in the movie but doesn’t add much more to the story. It does, however, give you a sense of just how young and out of their element the two actors were when they first started.
Obviously, it all worked out and now Star Wars is a Disney-owned mega-franchise that’s been pumping out movies on a yearly basis. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to land soon with Hamill himself returning as a force spirit thanks to his death at the end of The Last Jedi. The film will not only wrap up the trilogy but also explain Rey’s parentage and feature the best lightsaber battle ever (according to Daisy Ridley). Just think — years from now we’ll be watching some old footage of Ridley and John Boyega doing a screen test discussing how to fly the Millennium Falcon and giving an update on the 450th Star Wars trilogy conclusion.
